How to MeasureThe Small Female GingerLead is generally for small to medium size female dogs 20-50 lbs, or larger breeds with a barrel chest and a narrow waist, like Boxers. Support pad is 4" wide x 19" long. Straps adjust from 37" - 60" long. | Pad WidthMeasure from the front of the hind legs to the base of the rib cage to determine the support pad width. For large barrel chested dogs, downsizing to the Small size is common for a better fit. NOTE: Support pad holds it shape and does not bunch up. If 4" seems too wide, consider the Small Male or X-Small. | Strap LengthMeasure starting where the handle of the GingerLead will rest in your hand (while you are standing upright), continue under your dog’s belly, up the other side, then back to your hand completing the loop. If it measures 37” or less, order the Tall size. |
GingerLead is a small, family owned business proudly manufacturing mobility aids for pets in Colorado, U.S.A. since 2008. Our premium, patented dog slings were created for a Golden Retriever, you guessed it, named Ginger. Born with hip dysplasia, Ginger endured her fair share of adversity as both a puppy and as a sweet, old dog. Our personal experiences with Ginger inspired us to help others during these difficult stages of our furry family members lives.
The GingerLead's patented design integrates a padded dog sling with a leash & handle to help dogs with mobility, balance and stability. Ideal for elderly or disabled dogs needing some assistance, dogs suffering from arthritis, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, vestibular disease or other debilitating conditions, or for dogs recovering from a knee, hip or back injury or orthopedic surgery.
